Course Description

Flying has always been your passion? Want to take to the sky and get the adrenaline rush of flying an aircraft by yourself? The PPL is best suited for those students who are passionate about flying but do not wish to make a career out of it.

  • Minimum 17 years of age
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently.
  • At least a Third Class Medical Certificate from an Aviation Medical Examiner
  • Pass a computerized aeronautical knowledge test
  • Pass tests (oral and flight) administered by an FAA inspector or another designated examiner

  • 30 hours of dual flight instruction

  • 10 hours solo flight including 5 hours solo cross country

Learning Outcomes

PPL will be issued after the following requirements are satisfied.

a. The applicant shall not be less than 17 years of age on the date of application for issue of PPL.
b. The applicant shall produce a Medical Assessment Certificate issued by Director General of
Civil Aviation.
c. Applicant has to pass the flying tests and the above written examination conducted by Director
General of Civil Aviation, New Delhi. The examinations are held once every three months
at Thiruvananthapuram under the supervision of Civil Aviation Department.

Course Certification

PPL is issued by the Director General of Civil Aviation, New Delhi after a written examination conducted by Director General of Civil Aviation.
